Don’t miss the Insta-updates!

Believe it or not, I’m not as computer-savvy as you’d think a blogger would be.   I mean, I can work a PC (Macs, though… No).  I’m still on the easy, free WordPress for the blog (which is perfect for my needs right now… It remains my no-pressure DIY diary.  Heehee!).  I’m on Facebook but have never so much as OPENED Twitter.  Like, I have no idea what that even looks like.  And Instagram… Well, for the longest time I resisted.   It was just so…. foreign to me.  Like, what’s a hashtag anyways?  I’d basically regarded them as a new way to crack jokes rather than embracing their actual networking properties.

Then, a little over a year ago my cousin convinced me to open an Instagram account.  And by “convinced”, I mean that she basically did it for me.  She gave me a tutorial on how to use it and set me free.   And so, I got going with it.  But even though I was using Instagram, I wasn’t really USING Instagram.  I primarily just edited my photos there and then shared them to my personal Facebook account where I felt more comfortable socializing.  I rarely ever spent more time than that on there.   I never looked at my newsfeed or sought out new followers or thought to network for the blog.

But, here’s the thing.   I’ve been really digging it recently. There’s just SO much stinkin’ eye candy.  I love it.  So, I’ve been getting more involved.   Slooooowly dipping my toes in the water.  This is a BIG thing for me. It may never happen again.  Just saying. 😉  Anyways, lately, I haven’t had nearly as much time to blog as I had before, yet I’ve still been completing projects and decorating the ole’ homestead.   It’s just that actually photographing and blogging about the projects in question have been time-related challenges.

Don’t get me wrong… I’ll still be blogging, no doubt about that.  It’s just that my posts are going to be beefier (covering much more at once) because I can’t do them quite as frequently.  But… BUT… I will be posting smaller sneak peeks and project updates on Instagram.

If you already follow me, you may have noticed a recent influx of home-related posts.   Like this….

And this…

I’m also going to continue scattering in some personal pics as well, so it’ll be a nice mix.  Here are a few to give you an idea of what I like to post…

One of my faves taken with Joey and my cousin Charlie during a recent trip to San Antonio….

A special mother-son day a few weeks back…

So, if you’re wanting to keep up with all the deets click this link and follow me there.    I’m much more up on actually spending some good ole’ Insta-time lately.  I’m embracing the awesomeness of it and really enjoying it.    So, I hope to see you there!!

Now, if I can just become fluent in emoticons that differ from a smiley or winky face.  Haha!  #dreambig
