How’s your vision?

Seriously… If you ever wonder about your eyesight, come on over and test it out…

It’s a little difficult to photograph because of the reflection in the glass, but this art is still all that and a bag of chips if you ask me.   We found this cool vintage-inspired eye chart print at Urban Outfitters for $25, and couldn’t say no.   It came unframed, so we picked up a few of the largest Ribba frames the last time we were at Ikea.  Why do I say “a few” You ask??  Well, because we also picked up a second (different) print as well (not shown).   The original plan was to hang them on either side of the TV in the living room, but they just  didn’t look right once I finally got around to hanging them.

The living room’s loss is definitely the dining room’s gain, though….

The print goes swimmingly in the space.   Size-wise, it’s the cat’s meow.   And stylistically, it’s the perfect compliment to the more organic, colorful painting on the opposite wall.  It has complimentary colors, but it doesn’t compete thanks to it’s more neutral palette.  Plus, it’s the first thing you see when you walk from the kitchen to the dining room…

I love this view.

Well, aside from the view of out the window right now.  All of our patio furniture is currently pushed up against the house to protect it from the weather and pool-refinishing dust (Oh!  That reminds me… I actually remembered to take a close-up photo of the pool tile and added it to my last post.  Check it out here if you’re interested.).

Anyways, I’m completely loving this little new addition to the dining room. It adds a touch of quirkiness that I’m completely enamored of.  Super cool balance with everything else that’s currently going on.   I’m still on the look-out for a rug for the space, and am tossing around the idea of changing out the lighting fixture with something a little lighter visually.  We’ll see what the shopping gods bestow upon me.  Anything can happen, people!

I’m also still deciding on a spot for the second print we purchased, so I’ll keep y’all updated on that.  In the meantime, I’ve been working on a small project in the master bedroom to brighten things up.  I’d like to start the concrete countertop project for the wet-bar soon, but since I anticipate quite a bit of sanding dust, and Lucas is just getting over bronchitis with a touch of pneumonia, I need to wait.  Lucas’s health definitely comes first.  I mean, just look at this guy…

It was 80’s day at school when this lovely iPhone pic was taken.  Heehee!  This kid kills me.  I love him to the moon and back.   So, until (1) he’s 100% better and (2) he goes back to school so that he’s not in the house to breath in all that dust, that project will be delayed.  Next week is spring break, so it might be a few weeks until I get on that.   In other news, after 2 months of waiting we were supposed to have our front door installed today.   Unfortunately, Mother Nature struck again.  We had another snow storm last night, so Home Depot cancelled our installation and can’t get us back in for another 2 weeks.  Ugh.   We’re SO disappointed, but know that the wait will be worth it (Ihope).  So, anyways, I hope you guys have a great day!  What projects are you guys working on as of late?  Anything squashed by the weather as well??
